What you send at tax time is your logbook, as a PDF. The iBeacon is an optional device that starts your trips if your vehicle's Bluetooth can't.
No card needed. Keep it as long as you like.

You do it once. Plug in the USB one, or hold the button on the battery one for 3 seconds, then tap Scan for my beacon in the app and pick your vehicle. From then on it stays in the vehicle and your trips start on their own. The iBeacon needs Pro.
Yes. Start each trip yourself on Free, or go Pro and add an iBeacon, and trips start from that.
Not while you're driving. Leave LogPoint running in the background (don't swipe it closed). Once your vehicle's Bluetooth or an iBeacon is paired, trips start and end on their own. Each trip arrives already set to Business or Personal, by your work hours or your usual setting. Wrong? Hold the "Trip started" notification and tap the other one, right from the lock screen. If you start a trip yourself, you end it yourself. You can also tick trips in the app later; on Pro, all in one go. A trip you don't touch keeps the purpose LogPoint picked. It prints "Auto-classified" when your work hours picked it, or "Needs review" when your usual setting did.
No. It takes a few minutes. You download the app, add your vehicle, then pair its Bluetooth or an iBeacon. Its Bluetooth is the same one your music uses. Say yes when it asks for Bluetooth, location and notifications. Location is how it counts your kilometres.
Your logbook as a PDF, plus a spreadsheet file. Both come with Pro. The PDF lists each trip's date, vehicle, kilometres and business or personal, with totals and your receipts. Start and end addresses are always in the spreadsheet, and in the PDF only if you switch them on. No accountant? Send it to anyone, or save it.
Your accountant decides, so ask them. LogPoint logs your trips, work or not. You tick which is which.
